ASPIRE Global Dance Challenge

"We may all be in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars" - Oscar Wilde

COVID-19 has disrupted our daily lives, including the cancellation of dance competitions globally throughout 2020.

The Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) has established ASPIRE Global Dance Challenge to support competition dancers and studios during this time.

This platform will enable dancers to compete by uploading video competition entries.

Filming of routines must be current and can be filmed at dance studios, or if studios are unaccessible, can be filmed from a safe space at home.

Senior examiners and syllabus choreographers of the Asia Pacific Dance Association will adjudicate the performances.  Audio recordings of competitor feedback will be emailed to all competitors.  Ribbons will be posted to placegetters.

The video entries of the winner and runner up items (in each category) will be posted on this website.  These videos will be shown online to celebrate the achievements of the placegetters and for the enjoyment of all competitors of the competition (viewing is password protected).

The Adjudicators' Awards recognise outstanding items selected by the panel of judges.

Dancers enjoy the experience of filming their routines in a familiar space, at ease and with confidence.  Video entries give competitors the unique opportunity of submitting entries in which they feel 100% happy with their performance submission.

We hope this virtual stage will keep dancers inspired and motivated to practice and perform their competition routines.
